When’s the Best Time to Book Your Boudoir Session?

Short answer? As soon as possible!
Longer answer? Let’s break it down—because when it comes to boudoir, timing can be everything.

Whether you're booking your session as a gift for someone else (hi, best-ever anniversary or wedding gift!) or a celebration of yourself (milestone birthday, anyone?), giving yourself plenty of time is the key to feeling relaxed, prepared, and excited.

Aim for at Least 3 Months in Advance

Why 3 months? It’s the sweet spot.
You’ll want that buffer time to make sure everything goes smoothly—from planning your outfits to editing your photos and ordering any albums, prints, or gifts. Life happens! If you get sick or a good ol’ New England snowstorm rolls in (yes, I’ve had to reschedule thanks to blizzards), having that extra cushion of time can really take the pressure off.

Thinking About Tan Lines (Yes, Really!)

If you're booking in the summer or coming in right after, don’t forget: sunscreen is your best friend. Tan lines can stick around longer than you'd think and might show in certain outfits—or, at the very least, limit your options. If you're hoping for that sun-kissed glow, consider going for a natural tan or a spray tan from a trusted provider well before your session so it looks its best.

Want to Use a Payment Plan? Start Early!

One major perk of booking early: more time to pay. Many clients love taking advantage of payment plans to spread out the cost and make budgeting a breeze. The more time you give yourself, the more flexibility we have when it comes to your schedule and your payment plan.

Celebrating Something Big? Let’s Make it Extra Special

Milestone birthday? Divorce glow-up? Bachelorette adventure? I’ve had clients come in on their actual birthday and it’s seriously the best vibe. Whether you want to celebrate your birthday month or simply treat yourself to something transformative, scheduling around a meaningful date makes the whole experience even more unforgettable.

But Don’t Stress If You’re Cutting It Close

That said, if you’re reading this and realizing your ideal date is… soon—don’t panic. I will always do my best to make magic happen, even on a tighter timeline. If I can fit you in, I absolutely will. So don’t be shy—reach out and we’ll figure it out together.

Bottom Line: The best time to book your session is when you’re ready to celebrate YOU.
Let’s make sure you have the time, space, and confidence to fully enjoy every second of your boudoir experience. 💕
