Bridal boudoir has always been one of my favorite styles to shoot. There’s something so magical about capturing the beauty and excitement of a bride-to-be, all while showcasing her confidence in such a personal and intimate way. The best part of bridal boudoir is the endless possibilities for styling—every session is an opportunity to make it unique, reflecting the bride's personality, her style, and the excitement leading up to her big day.
For this bridal boudoir session, we had the privilege of working with some amazing pieces that helped create the perfect, dreamy look, and I couldn't be more excited to share how it all came together.
Something Blue: Soft Cardigans and Delicate Layers
To kick things off, we started with a simple yet stunning white slip and bra set, keeping it classic and elegant. But what made this look truly special was adding "something blue" in the form of a soft, flowing cardigan. This piece was a fun addition, not only because of the subtle color but also for the way it gave us so many posing options. We were able to create beautiful off-the-shoulder shots, adding a touch of elegance and a little playful sensuality to the session.
The Veil: Implied Nudes with a Bridal Twist
One of my favorite aspects of bridal boudoir is the implied nude shots. They're timeless, beautiful, and tasteful, giving brides the chance to feel confident and empowered in their own skin. To add a more bridal feel to this, we decided to style these shots with just a veil. And let me tell you—this veil was everything. Loaned to us by the amazing team at Tulle Bridal in North Andover, it featured an intricate and breathtaking edging, which really stood out against the dark backdrop. The contrast of the delicate, flowing veil against the black background was stunning, and it created an incredibly romantic and ethereal vibe. It’s the perfect accessory for creating soft, elegant implied nude shots.
Elegant Robes and Puff Sleeves
We also had the pleasure of incorporating a long BHLDN robe, also loaned by Tulle Bridal, and it was absolutely amazing. The beadwork on the robe was so intricate and elegant, giving the entire look a luxurious, bridal feel. And let’s talk about the puff sleeves! I couldn’t help but be reminded of my love for Anne of Green Gables. Who wouldn’t want to channel some Anne-inspired vibes for their boudoir session? The puff sleeves brought a sense of whimsy and romance, making it the perfect addition to the overall look.
The Wedding Dress: The Ultimate Bridal Moment
For the final look, we couldn't go without showcasing a gorgeous wedding dress. The simplicity of the lines on the dress, combined with the dark backdrop, really drew all the attention to our lovely bride. It was the perfect finishing touch to this bridal boudoir session—elegant, timeless, and truly breathtaking.
