How a Boudoir Session Gets Started - Posing

Ever wonder what really happens at the beginning of a boudoir session? Many clients worry they’ll need to be balancing on heels or striking dramatic poses right away — and the answer is a big NO! We always start slow, easy, and comfortable, gradually building confidence and getting you warmed up in front of the camera.

I usually begin sessions on the bed set, which is soft, cozy, and perfect for relaxed, natural poses. Starting here helps you feel at ease while we get a sense of your favorite angles and expressions.

For your outfit, I recommend something more conservative at first, like a robe, button-down shirt, or anything layered. Pieces that are easy to remove make it simple to transition into a second, more intimate look later in the session — no stress, no fuss.

By the time we move on to the shower set or more dramatic poses, you’ll already feel confident and ready to strike that perfect pose. Boudoir is all about empowerment, comfort, and fun, and starting slow is the best way to make it happen.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a session, now is a great time! November Mini Sessions are happening this month:

  • 20 minutes on the bed set + 20 minutes in the shower set

  • Hair & makeup included

  • $100 product credit toward albums, wall art, or keepsakes

It’s a quick, fun, and empowering experience — perfect for a holiday gift or just a treat for yourself!
