Boudoir Photography on a Floral Backdrop | Boston Boudoir Studio
There’s nothing quite like the very first session on a brand-new set—and this one completely confirmed everything I hoped this floral backdrop would be. Our first shoot in front of it was pure magic, and I’m already obsessed. This boudoir session was the first photographed on the new floral backdrop at my studio near Boston in Reading, Massachusetts.
For this session, we connected with the lovely Heidi from Tulle Bridal, who generously joined us to showcase a few stunning gowns. She brought along a gorgeous BHLDN gown that felt effortlessly romantic, along with a show-stopping Payal Jain dress featuring colorful floral details along the hem. Against the soft pinks and pastels of the backdrop, the dresses truly came to life—elegant, playful, and full of movement.
To balance the bridal looks, we mixed in a few studio favorites as well. A delicate vintage slip from my client closet added a timeless, intimate feel, while a pink chemise brought a fun pop of color and a slightly more boudoir-forward vibe. Seeing how versatile this backdrop is—able to shift seamlessly from bridal to boudoir—was so exciting.
One of the most fun parts of the shoot was experimenting with different furniture pieces. We played around with a variety of chairs, and each one brought a totally different mood to the set. It’s one of those backdrops that truly transforms depending on how it’s styled, and I already know clients are going to have opinions. You’ll have to tell me which chair is your favorite when you come in!
This shoot wouldn’t have been the same without an amazing team. Hair and makeup were done by the wonderfully talented Tara, who absolutely nailed the soft, romantic glam, and modeling by Lily, who brought elegance, confidence, and ease to every look.
After just one session, I’m completely smitten with this floral backdrop—and I can’t wait to create more magic here. Whether you’re envisioning boudoir, bridal portraits, or something entirely your own, this set is ready to shine.
